“We are proud to say Redford Farm Barns was chosen as the location for Nigella Lawson’s Christmas Special 2017. ”

Driving down the little, winding country lanes you’ll see the Medieval Farm House of Redford Farm peep out through the gap in the abundant rural hedges that line the lanes. As soon as you approach the farm gates, the Victorian redbrick barns welcome you along with the often described film set vista of Redford Farm.

We regularly welcome guests from 6 months old to 90 something years and all are very content and happy here. We’ve even been the chosen venue for a 100th Birthday party with a letter from the Queen arriving by special delivery! With two ground floor bedrooms between both barns and huge open plan single level living, we can happily accommodate the newest and the wiser generations. This large open space for living, dining and cooking allow our guests to all be together or break out as they desire. With a stainless steel kitchen island good enough for Nigella, 2 ovens, 2 fridges, along with an inviting round sociable dining table for 12 guests, Redford Farm Barns is a really welcoming space for you to celebrate or relax in.

On our farm, our guests really get to feel like they’ve gone back in time. We’ve been told that at sunrise, it feels like the set of Lark Rise to Candleford. The setting is remarkably unchanged in hundreds of years. With so many features kept around the farm from its older days - threshing machinery, old tractor hoods, Victorian farm tools on display - you can simply stop, sit and imagine times past.

Let children run free, hang out with the animals, go foraging in the lanes, squelch in the mud - do all the things that make children children. This is the place for outdoor fun - no matter the weather - good times can be had. If you then fancy treating yourselves, try the health benefits of our new Wellness Area with our wood fired Sauna, cold plunge bath and outdoor shower.

Our wooden outdoor kitchen area with bbq, undercover seating for 12 and outdoor soft sofas give you and your family or friends the chance to relax, laugh and catchup. Enjoy the huge Kadai fire bowl at night with marshmallows while gazing up at the best night skies in this rural land. Don’t forget to make the most of the ever popular stable bar for your cosy, social evenings with darts and a piano for the more musical guests!

And last but not least, our newest addition, The Huts. A cosy couples retreat or a family with 2 children, these are set in beautiful location approximately 500 yards from the barns. They can be enjoyed either as an add on to your large group in the barns or booked separately for your own little escape to the country.

What our guests say about us …

  • "Ludlow Barn has everything needed for a relaxing, peaceful and chilled holiday. The location is stunning with miles and miles of uninterrupted views across the local countryside and we enjoyed walking the quiet local country lanes. There was 6 of us staying including our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter who loved to feed both Pip the pig and the chickens, as well banging out a tune on the piano in the stable barn. The property is spacious and clean and has everything you could possibly need, including a fully equipped kitchen, bbq, outdoor dining/sitting area and the sauna was the cherry on the cake. We also used the services of Harry and Ruby from Evatt & Bullock catering and the food which they delivered was delicious. Our stay was in September and the hedgerows were full of blackberries and sloes which we were encouraged to pick…..and we did. Would we recommend Redford Farm barns for a holiday…..definitely."

  • "We had such a wonderful stay at Redford Farm Barns. It was the perfect place to stay for our family reunion and to celebrate Mum’s 70th. With family from the UK, USA and Japan all meeting up, the barns provided us with the perfect combination of accommodation. The kids loved being able to play cricket in the upper field and all had a go on the zip line. Waking up to beautiful countryside views and some very cute and content sheep grazing outside was wonderful. We loved being able to cook big meals together and do a bit of baking with the kids. It really was a wonderful place to stay. Ludlow farm shop was a big hit too, as well as Ludlow itself for lunch and ice cream and a fun explore of the castle. Simply fantastic!"

  • "We had a wonderful stay in the shepherds huts here! We were so impressed with the huts - they truly had thought of everything! - and we were particularly pleased that Buddy the dog was welcome too ☺️ We especially enjoyed the glorious wood fired hot tub - a beautiful way to spend the evening with a bottle of wine under the stars! We slept so soundly in the super comfy bed. What a brilliant find! - and so glad you were available! Thanks ever so much and we hope to return soon 😀"

    Holly Roberts - August 2024

  • "A month ago Redford Farm Barns is an absolute gem of a place to stay and we cannot wait to return! We booked the Barn/Cottage and Huts for a week with family and friends and were not disappointed. It was absolutely FANTASTIC. We loved every bit of our week away - from the beautiful rooms and living areas, to the stunning and idyllic Shepherd Huts & hot tub, to feeding Pip the pig, to relaxing in the wellness area, to sitting round a firepit, to playing darts in the Stable Barn to sharing in the incredible culinary delights of Chef Harry and his brilliant team to name but a few of the wonderful experiences that this venue offers. We really did experience a Shropshire delight and we would highly recommend. The accommodation is spacious, very well designed and equipped - certainly much better than most with a brilliant and social open kitchen area and it was very clean and tidy. It is dog friendly with a large enclosed area - and suits families of all ages. We spent time in an escape room in Shrewsbury Prison, Quad trekking in Oaker Wood, exploring Ludlow, walking and playing golf as well as just basking in the lovely setting. Jude and her team are so accommodating and have thought of everything and nothing is too much trouble. We cannot rate this highly enough. Thank you for a brilliant week x"

    Ellie Wood - July 2024

  • "We spent a superb week at the lovely Ludlow Barn, Tenbury Cottage and adjoining Shepherd Huts with family members and friends celebrating a special birthday. The location is perfect, the barns are tastefully refurbished with much attention to detail and as a highlight we enjoyed the culinary delights, courtesy of Chef Harry and Ruby. Thank you Jude & Rupert for providing such delightful holiday accommodation in a beautiful part of the UK"

    Rob Day - July 2024

  • "We stayed at the Huts at Redford Farm with our two kids and lab. The weather was mixed for our stay, but it didn’t dampen our spirits. The kids didn’t stop playing on the zip line and we managed to eat marshmallows over the huge firepit. Luxury bedding in the living hut and the kids were super comfy in the living hut which when set up was a huge bed for them to sleep in. Jude and her husband were great hosts and couldn’t do more to help us settle in. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it if you want to get away to green fields all around and a bit of an adventure away from it all."

    Nina Craze - June 2024

  • "This was a really lovely place to stay as a party of 11. The accommodation is spacious, very well designed and equipped (much better than most) and very clean and tidy. It is dog friendly with a large enclosed area - would be great for anyone with kids as well. There is a great outdoor area with seating, BBQ and fire pit. The setting is very picturesque and it is a 20 minute drive into Ludlow which is a lovely town to explore. Rupert and Jude and kind and thoughtful hosts. Thoroughly recommended"

  • "We've just returned from a truly idyllic weekend at Redford Farm Barns & cannot recommend this stunning place highly enough. Everything from the picturesque location, to the beautiful & rustic converted barn, the extensive outdoor space, the wood fired sauna & hot tub, the zip wire & play area for the children, the cutest shepherds huts & the most welcoming of hosts, it couldn't have been any more perfect! The house feels so spacious, yet so cosy and is finished to an extremely high standard. There are so many bathrooms I almost lost count! It's very well equipped and is the perfect place to spend quality time with loved ones, but also has plenty of areas you can take yourself off to when you need a quiet moment. We spent our first day just enjoying the house, the gardens and the fabulous facilities on offer & our second day exploring Ludlow, the Castle & the Ludlow Food Festival. We came away wishing we could stay longer and feeling totally relaxed & refreshed. We will most certainly be back. Thank you so much for having us Rupert & Jude, you have created a beautiful little haven in the Shropshire countryside!"

  • "Spent 2 nights at Redford Farm Barns recently and had a great weekend. The open plan barn is stunning, matched only by the incredible views and the fantastic hosts, who went above and beyond. We even had our own barn pub. We will definitely return!! Highly recommended"

    Col Taylor - April 2024

  • "We have just come back from a wonderful stay at Redford Farm Barns. Everything about the place was perfect from the communication before hand (thank you Liz for your help) to when we left. The barns easily managed to accommodate 11of us with spacious bedrooms and a large downstairs, ideal for entertaining. All this and surrounded by beautiful countryside! We could not recommend more and will certainly return."

    Jenny Stevens - March 2024

  • "We used Redford Farm Bars for a small work event - great space for a strategy meeting and really well equipped for spending the evening socialising. We cooked in the fantastic kitchen but were offered the services of a great local chef if needed (who i've used before and would highly recommend!). Beautiful setting, excellent standard of accomodation and pretty easy to get to for attendees from the North, South and Midlands."

    Clinton Ghent - February 2024

  • "We just had a wonderful long weekend at Redford Farm Barns. The accommodation is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for socialising. We went with friends and shared both barns, our teenage kids had a lovely time in the smaller barn, giving them a safe space to get away from us adults whilst we spent time cooking, eating, chatting and exploring the local sights. An added bonus was they are really dog friendly so we could take our dogs with us. Clee Hill was really beautiful for a windy dog walk and Ludlow town was a great place to explore on an afternoon. Add into this the social barn with a bar, seating and a darts board and we were entertained all weekend long. Jude and Rupert were perfect hosts, so kind and thoughtful, the Barns were spotless and really well equipped with everything we could need for 2 families getting away for a peaceful weekend of catching up. We look forward to returning at some point soon!"

    Jon Hossack - February 2024

  • "We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday at Redford Farm with family staying in both cottages. The quality and cleanliness of the accommodation is second to none with numerous, wonderful touches in design: it is a voyage of discovery and you feel completely at home from the minute you arrive. It was enjoyed by all from the octogenarian guests down to the hyper-critical younger teens who absolutely loved it! The Stable Bar where we partied was atmospheric, warm and comfortable on what was the coldest night of the year so far. It is so rare to find somewhere that suits everyone and we can't wait to go back."

    Angela Vint - January 2023

  • "I've stayed here twice for yoga retreats and hope to stay again many more times. It's an idyllic setting, so beautiful and peaceful. The accommodations are to a high standard, lots of soft cozy furnishings, and spotlessly clean. Jude and Rupert are lovely and so helpful and responsive. You can't go wrong staying here."

    Lisa Miller - November 2023

  • "Just attended a weekend yoga retreat at Redford Farm barns with the beautiful yoga teacher Brodie Bass….what a gorgeous serene farm, the owners Jude and Rupert were super welcoming and friendly and the rooms and ambience so nicely designed and comfortable. The whole experience was truly refreshing. Views from the farm and the walks around the farm were just perfect…I would go back there in a heartbeat."

    Elaine Agius - September 2023

  • "Have just returned from a wonderful long weekend at Redford Farm Barns. It was everything we hoped for and more. We wanted for nothing, and even though there were 12 of us, we didn’t feel cramped at all. Each room has been decorated beautifully and really makes you feel you’ve come somewhere special. We made use of all the facilities - the stable bar, the outdoor BBQ dining area and the fire pit. There was plenty to keep the kids amused, from the animals to the zip wire to the many toys and games available in the barn. Thanks for the happy memories! X"

    Nicci Shayler - July 2023

  • "We’ve just enjoyed a long weekend at Redford Farm and had the most fantastic time. With 8 adults, 4 kids and 1 dog we took up both of the barns. The bedrooms were all lovely, very comfortable, and the kids loved sleeping together in the “Ducklings” bunk room. Having the 2 barns allowed everyone to have plenty of space but we all used the main lounge and dining room for relaxing and eating together. The stable bar was a great place to play games and enjoy a few drinks together, joined by the birds who were nesting in the rafters! We could have stayed onsite for the 4 days; there was plenty to do with walks around the fields, down to the little river and the treehouse, visiting the pigs and chickens, playing on the zip wire, etc. But we also made use of the local info given in the welcome book and went paddle boarding In Ludlow, visited the castle, and went walking in Mortimer Forest. It seems like Jude and her family have thought of everything to make our stay as enjoyable, special, and fun as possible. Thank you !"

  • "We stayed at Redford Farm Barns to celebrate a family member’s special birthday. There were nine of us staying across the two properties, Ludlow barn and Tenbury cottage, both of which were extremely comfortable and well equipped for family groups. We really appreciated having the smaller barn to spread ourselves out a bit and having the additional living and kitchen space was great with very small children, but still having the bigger bran to come together to eat and socialise. The properties are in a beautiful location, with stylish, considered interiors. It feels a luxury stay both inside and outside. We were very lucky with the weather during our stay at the end of May so were able to make use of the beautiful garden, outdoor kitchen and lounging in the hammock. The children particularly loved the visit to see the pigs and chickens to collect eggs for breakfast and the play equipment found en route. Nice little walks directly from the property too. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we’d love to return!"
